Chris Cheetham
Founder & CEO

Chris believes that conserving our environment is the most pressing issue we currently face. There can be no greater priority than ensuring there is a sustainable, biodiverse world for future generations to enjoy and prosper in.

Since graduating in Environmental Science he has pursued a career in business development and commercial leadership with a desire to enact environmental change from the front. He began working in the exciting world of electric vehicle charging in 2016 and has never looked back.

He cares deeply about ensuring the mass adoption of electric vehicles is simple and easily accepted by all. He also loves to get nerdy about the transition to sustainable energy generation, storage and consumption this unlocks.

When not pouring his energy into maintaining EV chargers, you'll find Chris either running, playing board games, at a metal gig, or spending time with his young family.

Why charge point maintenance?

Having seen a breadth of commercial models and client use cases develop over the years there are many interesting avenues of development happening in the world of EV charging but one thing has remained constant; the need for reliable charging infrastructure which businesses can confidently build their operations around.

Safer Charging was borne from a desire to give businesses the confidence to adopt EV's and take away ongoing concerns about their EV charging estate.

Whilst the EV market has changed considerably since the early days (when popular opinion said they were just capable of being milk floats) the same cannot always be said of the charge points which they rely upon. There are many legacy charge points still in active use and new infrastructure being deployed at a phenomenal rate to stay ahead of demand.

Whether a charge point is newly installed or has been around for some time it could be prone to certain failures or unforeseen events. The importance of staying ahead of potential issues cannot be understated, particularly where the safety of colleagues or the general public could be at risk. Even if there is no health risk present, the costs of charge points being out of service can be huge for operational fleets & CPO's, damaging for brand association, or those needing to see expected RoI's.

Safer Charging offer a range of services designed to give you peace of mind and meet your stautory obligations around electrical safety. Click below to see more detail:
